On March 24, 2026, Senel Galiano Sagastume, a 43-year-old Guatemalan citizen illegally residing in the US, allegedly hit a uniformed Deputy US Marshal with his pickup truck while trying to flee a traffic stop in Dallas. The incident occurred when officers initiated a traffic stop, and Sagastume refused to comply, leading to a confrontation. The reason behind Sagastume’s actions is still unclear, but the outcome was severe: the Deputy US Marshal suffered bodily injury.

According to the complaint, Sagastume’s actions were reckless and violent.
