Meeker Gets 15 Years for Meth Run

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – Trevor Dean Meeker, 31, of Noel, Missouri, is headed to federal prison for 15 years after pleading guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks handed down the 180-month sentence today, followed by three years of supervised release. The case lays bare the relentless flow of narcotics across state lines and the consequences for those caught pushing poison.

The bust originated on March 18, 2022, when officers from the Sulphur Springs Police Department joined the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri in a pursuit of Meeker. The chase ended abruptly when Meeker crashed his vehicle through a privacy fence and into the Dollar General store in Sulphur Springs. It wasn’t a simple fender-bender; the wreck signaled the end of a drug run.

A search of the wreckage revealed a backpack stuffed with a significant quantity of methamphetamine, along with plastic baggies – the tools of the trade – and counterfeit bills. As officers scoured the crash site, they discovered a black bag containing two loaded firearms, raising the stakes from drug trafficking to potential armed violence. The scene painted a clear picture: Meeker wasn’t just moving drugs, he was prepared to protect his operation.

Days later, on March 31, 2022, a DEA Task Force Officer interviewed Meeker at the Benton County Jail. After receiving and waiving his Miranda rights, Meeker confessed to knowing about the methamphetamine and firearms, and admitted his involvement in distributing the drug. He didn’t bother denying his role in the scheme. Lab analysis confirmed the seized substance was 173 grams of pure methamphetamine – enough to devastate countless lives.

U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas announced the sentencing, highlighting the collaborative effort of the Sulphur Springs Police Department, the McDonald County, Missouri Sheriff’s Department, and the DEA Fayetteville Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris successfully prosecuted the case, securing a substantial sentence for Meeker.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence. The Department’s renewed focus on PSN prioritizes building trust with communities, supporting violence prevention programs, and strategically targeting enforcement efforts. Meeker’s sentence sends a message: those who peddle drugs and endanger communities will face the full force of the law.
