Meth Bust

⏱ 2 min read

A massive methamphetamine shipment involving over 300 pounds of the drug was busted in the greater Cincinnati area in January 2025. Jontah Jackson, a 31-year-old Los Angeles man, was involved in the conspiracy, which used paver stones to smuggle the meth. The shipment arrived in 10 pallets, with fake paver stones filled with methamphetamine interspersed among real ones. Jackson was caught after a surveillance operation and a high-speed chase, and has now pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, DEA agents in Cincinnati received a tip about the shipment and conducted surveillance on the delivery area in West Chester. Jackson was spotted observing the delivery and fled when law enforcement converged on the scene. He collided with a police vehicle, crashed into a tree line, and fled on foot before being apprehended on a nearby highway.

Jackson and co-defendant Ramiro Mendoza, 30, of Santa Maria, California, were indicted by a grand jury in April 2025. Jackson faces at least 10 years and up to life in prison for his role in the conspiracy. The case was announced by United States Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II and other law enforcement officials, including the DEA, ATF, and Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The guilty plea is a significant victory for law enforcement in the fight against methamphetamine trafficking in the region. The investigation and prosecution were the result of a collaborative effort between federal, state, and local agencies.
