Marcus Hill, a 53-year-old from Fort Dodge, Iowa, was involved in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation that spanned several years. Between 2018 and March 2025, Hill conspired to distribute methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area, with one of his distributions occurring near a protected location, Deercreek Apartments, a public housing authority. Hill’s actions led to his arrest and subsequent sentencing. On March 20, 2026, Hill was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison for his crimes.
Hill’s plea hearing in November 2025 revealed that he had distributed over 300 grams of pure methamphetamine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement on three separate occasions in March 2025. This significant amount of methamphetamine put many lives at risk, and Hill’s actions were a clear threat to the community.
The case against Hill was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, and Iowa DCI Laboratory. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde, who worked tirelessly to bring Hill to justice.
Hill’s sentence of 144 months in federal prison, followed by a term of 10 years supervised release, reflects the severity of his crimes. With no parole in the federal system, Hill will serve his full sentence, providing a sense of closure for the community he harmed.
