⏱ 2 min read

A 34-year-old Woodland man, Anthony Russell, has been brought to justice for running a methamphetamine operation in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. On May 13, 2024, Russell was caught with over 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, along with other narcotics.

Russell pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine and was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison by Senior United States District Court Judge Michael P. Mills. He will also serve 5 years of supervised release after his prison term.

US Attorney Scott Leary stated that the proliferation of methamphetamine is destroying communities and must be addressed. He commended the work of Assistant U.S. Attorney Clyde McGee and federal agents in making the case.

‘Meth and fentanyl are poison,’ said DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw. ‘Today’s sentence is a clear win for public safety and our mission for a #FentanylFree Mississippi.’
