Mexican Illegal Alien Accused of Smuggling Migrants Hits the Street

Outta nowhere in Alabama, local law enforcement swung into action, nailing down Andres Carrillo-Hernandez. The 27-year-old Mexican national is the latest to face federal heat for what’s known as alien smuggling—a charge with serious jail time attached: a three-year minimum sentence, or up to a decade if he doesn’t play nice.

The Middle District of Alabama gets this grim tale courtesy of U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, who dropped the hammer on Carrillo-Hernandez today. It’s no joke; federal prosecutors are dead serious about cracking down on the illegal alien trade that leaves many vulnerable.

According to the feds, Carrillo-Hernandez is part of a network that facilitates human trafficking across borders, which is about as lowdown and despicable as it gets. The streets aren’t safe, and this arrest just proves it.

This is one more stark reminder that the illegal alien crisis isn’t taking a backseat to any crime wave. And while the DOJ’s DiGiacomo seems to be doing his part, the streets are watching, waiting for the next wave of justice—or injustice—to hit them.
