A brutal domestic violence murder in Washington D.C. ended with a 17-year prison sentence for Pernell Sims. The 35-year-old father shot his romantic partner, 30-year-old Tyshida Williams, in the head while their child was in the apartment on July 30, 2023.
According to authorities, Sims and Williams got into a heated argument over her phone, which escalated into a fight in the parking garage. They took the violence back to the apartment, where Sims’ child was present, before he shot Williams.
