New Haven’s streets have once again been hit with a crime wave as Tyrell Cox-Henderson, 27, has entered a guilty plea in federal court. Cox-Henderson faces serious repercussions for his illegal possession of a firearm.
Cox-Henderson’s transgression came to light on April 10, 2019, when he was caught with a Smith & Wesson .357 caliber revolver in New Haven. His past convictions include burglary in the third degree, possession of a weapon or dangerous instrument in a correctional facility, and conspiracy to commit robbery in the third degree.
It’s against federal law for anyone with a felony conviction to possess firearms or ammunition that have crossed state or international lines. Cox-Henderson’s sentence will be determined on December 7, 2020, where he could spend up to a decade behind bars.

This grim incident is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime in communities nationwide by uniting law enforcement with local residents.
Cox-Henderson has been held in custody since his arrest, and his sentence will be announced on December 7th. The community waits with bated breath for justice to be served.
