Ohio Man Charged with Erie Bank, Gas Station Robberies

ERIE, PA. – Zachary Price, 33, a former resident of Wickliffe, Ohio, has been indicted on charges of bank robbery and Hobbs Act robbery in connection with two April 2016 robberies in Erie, PA.

According to the indictment, Price robbed the Kwik Fill gas station located at 3620 Peach Street, Erie, Pennsylvania on April 24, 2016, and the Huntington Bank located at 5808 Peach Street, Erie, Pennsylvania on April 25, 2016, making off with $2,000.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 40 years in prison, a fine of $500,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Erie Police Department and the Millcreek Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment.

An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Price’s alleged crimes have sent shockwaves through the Erie community, with many left wondering what motivated the former Ohio resident to commit such brazen acts.

The community is still reeling from the aftermath of the robberies, and authorities are working to bring Price to justice.

Zachary Price’s next court appearance is pending. A date has not been set.
