PHILADELPHIA – A five-man crew responsible for a wave of terror on Philly streets is facing serious time after a federal jury delivered guilty verdicts today. The ring operated by hijacking cars at gunpoint, then fencing the stolen vehicles – many ending up shipped overseas to Africa, according to U.S. Attorney David Metcalf.
The indictments, handed down last July, unveiled a pattern of violence stretching back to early 2022. The most chilling revelation? This wasn’t just about stealing cars. It was about eliminating anyone who stood in their way.
Mikal McCracken, 24, known as “Kal,” is the central figure, convicted of the carjacking that ended in the death of a former Marine. But the charges don’t stop there. McCracken was also found guilty of plotting to silence a potential witness, and linked to 20 other armed carjackings, five of which involved victims being shot or fired upon. One unfortunate soul was targeted twice in separate carjackings a month apart.
Amin Muse, 24, going by “Miyn” and “Miyns,” shares the blame for the Marine’s murder and the witness-killing plot. He also participated in at least eight other armed carjackings, one of which involved gunfire.
Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, “Fatleem,” was convicted in connection with the Marine’s murder and five additional armed carjackings.
Dean Fosque, 28, “30,” faces consequences for nine armed carjackings, including three where shots were fired, hitting one victim.
Rounding out the crew, Kavon Coleman, 23, “Ski,” was convicted for his role in four armed carjackings.
Prosecutors detailed how the group identified targets, executed the carjackings, and then sold the stolen vehicles to buyers who arranged for their shipment to Africa. Sentencing dates haven’t been set, but with convictions on charges including murder and conspiracy, these men are likely looking at decades behind bars.
