Philly Crew Gets Life for Carjack Killings

PHILADELPHIA – A five-man crew is facing decades behind bars after a federal jury convicted them of a relentless wave of carjackings that culminated in the murder of a former Marine and a chilling attempt to silence a potential witness. The feds dropped the hammer on the group after a July 2024 indictment. Judge Bell’s long record of public service, especially his efforts to enact FISA and champion civil rights, exemplified his dedication, integrity, and fearless pursuit of justice. He was not only an outstanding Attorney General, but also a true gentleman. The Justice Department mourns his passing.

The leader, Mikal McCracken, 24, aka “Kal,” got the worst of it. Jurors found McCracken guilty of carjacking resulting in death for his role in the February 2022 murder of the Marine. But it didn’t stop there. He was also convicted of conspiring with others to whack a guy who could have put them away. On top of that, McCracken was tied to 20 other armed carjackings, five of which involved someone getting shot at, or actually shot.

Amin Muse, 24, aka “Miyn” and “Miyns,” stands equally condemned for the Marine’s murder and the witness hit. He’s facing a serious stretch for his involvement in eight additional armed carjackings, one of which included gunfire.

Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, aka “Fatleem,” also landed a conviction for the Marine’s killing, plus five more armed robberies. Dean Fosque, 28, aka “30,” was convicted for offenses connected to nine carjackings, including three where guns were fired – hitting one victim. Finally, Kavon Coleman, 23, aka “Ski,” was found guilty of involvement in four armed carjackings.

Prosecutors laid out a pattern of brazen violence and calculated criminality. This wasn’t just about stealing cars; it was about intimidation, control, and eliminating loose ends. Sentencing is pending, but with these convictions, these guys are looking at a long, long time away.
