Kansas City, MO – Addison Jones, 28, is facing federal charges after allegedly trying to produce child pornography, according to a complaint unsealed today. Jones, already on the sex offender registry, is accused of using the internet to groom a 10-year-old boy, attempting to solicit sexually explicit images.
The FBI says Jones communicated with the minor online, attempting to obtain the disturbing content. Details in the affidavit paint a picture of a calculated effort to exploit a child.
Jones is charged with attempted production of child pornography, and an additional count for violating the terms of his sex offender registration. Federal prosecutors are handling the case.
This investigation is part of “Project Safe Childhood,” a national DOJ initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation. Authorities are reminding the public that these crimes are taken seriously, and online predation is a major focus.
