KANSAS CITY, MO – Addison Jones, 28, is facing federal charges after allegedly trying to create child pornography, according to a complaint unsealed today. Jones, already required to register as a sex offender, is accused of contacting a 10-year-old boy online with the intent of obtaining sexually explicit material.
The FBI investigation reportedly uncovered communications showing Jones attempting to solicit explicit images from the minor. He’s been charged with attempted production of child pornography, and with committing the offense while already on the sex offender registry – a move that could significantly increase potential penalties.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Teresa A. Moore is prosecuting the case. This investigation is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, a national effort focused on combating online child sexual exploitation.
As with all criminal complaints, Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
