Addison Jones, 28, is in hot water with the feds after the FBI allegedly caught him trying to manufacture child pornography. The Kansas City, Missouri man – already a registered sex offender – is accused of grooming a 10-year-old boy online, actively seeking out explicit material involving the minor. This went down sometime before his recent federal charges were filed.

Court papers paint a grim picture: Jones wasn’t just browsing. He was actively trying to get the boy to participate in sexually explicit acts. That’s landed him with charges of attempted production of child pornography, plus a separate count related to his prior conviction as a registered sex offender.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Teresa A. Moore is building the case against Jones. The investigation is part of “Project Safe Childhood,” a Justice Department program focused on hunting down predators and tackling child sexual abuse. It’s a nationwide effort, and Jones is the latest target.

Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty, of course. But the allegations are serious, and if convicted, he’s looking at significant time behind bars. This case is a stark reminder of the dangers lurking online and the ongoing fight to protect vulnerable children.
