Rochester Man Charged with Child Pornography Production

A Rochester man has been brought to justice after being indicted for producing and possessing child pornography, as well as coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Mathew Richard Adamson, 45, is accused of creating child pornography involving 12 and 13-year-old minor girls on multiple occasions between 2015 and 2023. The disturbing content includes surreptitiously recorded videos, according to court documents.

Adamson is also accused of possessing sexually explicit images and videos of minors and coercing a minor girl to engage in sexual conduct with him. The coercive behavior is a heinous act that has left authorities and the community shaken.

The indictment charges Adamson with three counts of production and attempted production of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of coercion and enticement. This case highlights the importance of vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies in bringing these perpetrators to justice.

The investigation into Adamson’s activities was a collaborative effort between the Rochester Police Department, the FBI, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebecca Kline is responsible for prosecuting the case.

Adamson was arraigned today in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge Dulce J. Foster. While an indictment is merely an allegation, Adamson is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The people of Minnesota demand justice for the victims of these heinous crimes. The Department of Justice USAO and law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to bring these perpetrators to justice and protect our communities from the scourge of child exploitation.
