New York City, April 7, 1923 – In a daring raid, federal dry agents seized over a million dollars’ worth of liquor from the Dominion warehouse on West Broadway. The stash, estimated to be between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000, was comprised of thousands of cases of wine, whiskey, and liquor. The agents, however, were not left unscathed. After a small boy’s loud cry alerted a mob to their presence, the agents were confronted and attacked. Fortunately, police reserves intervened and rescued the federal men, who were left shaken but unharmed.
