In a brutal act of retaliation just hours after losing her job, Javen Ann Drennan, 31, of Parker, Ariz., helped orchestrate a violent robbery at Woody’s gas station on the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation. On December 2, 2014, Drennan drove co-defendants Rikki Alison Drennan, 27, and Arrow Nicholas Lopez, 19, both also of Parker, to the scene, setting in motion a masked, knife-point heist that would land all three behind federal bars.
That evening, Rikki Drennan and Lopez entered the store wearing dark clothing, their faces hidden by bandanas. Lopez brandished a knife, holding it inches from the clerk’s waist, and demanded the cash register be emptied. While Lopez threatened the victim, Rikki Drennan ransacked the store, stealing alcohol and cigarettes. The duo fled with approximately $850 in cash before jumping into Javen Drennan’s waiting vehicle.
The escape was short-lived. Parker Police intercepted the suspects shortly after the robbery. The swift arrest, combined with surveillance footage and witness statements, built an airtight case. All three defendants, members of the Colorado River Indian Tribes, later pleaded guilty to federal robbery charges in connection with the violent crime.
On June 27, 2016, Arrow Nicholas Lopez was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison, receiving credit for 14 months already served in tribal custody. Just a month later, on July 25, 2016, Rikki Alison Drennan was hit with a 50-month sentence. Today, Javen Ann Drennan was sentenced to 51 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Steven P. Logan, followed by three years of supervised release for each defendant.
The investigation was a coordinated effort between the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the CRIT Police Department, and the Parker Police Department—agencies that continue to battle violent crime in tribal jurisdictions where federal authority often intersects with local law enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Christina J. Reid-Moore, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, Phoenix.
Case number CR-16-0114-PHX-SPL marks another grim chapter in reservation crime, where personal grudges escalate into armed violence. With federal sentences now sealed, the trio will serve their time for a robbery born of rage and executed with cold precision.
