WHEELING, W.VA. — The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has made a significant move by appointing Timothy (Tim) Rich as the new Regional Director for the Atlanta Region.
In this pivotal role, Rich will oversee both Risk Management and Consumer Protection supervision programs for financial institutions within the region. His extensive background and experience in the FDIC’s Division of Risk Management Supervision make him an ideal choice for the position.
Rich has dedicated over 36 years to the FDIC, accumulating a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills. He has held several key positions within the division, including serving as Deputy Regional Director in Atlanta since 2021 and Assistant Regional Director for 10 years prior. His career began as a Bank Examiner in Knoxville, TN, where he honed his skills before advancing to case manager, senior examiner, and senior examination specialist.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Rich has also served as Acting Deputy Regional Director in both the Atlanta and New York Regions. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Montevallo and graduation from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He furthered his studies by completing the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
This appointment is a testament to Rich’s dedication and expertise in financial oversight. The FDIC has clearly recognized his value in managing risk and ensuring consumer protection within the Atlanta Region.
