Spencer County, Indiana man Trent Walker, 36, was sentenced to 210 years in federal prison for orchestrating a years-long campaign of sadistic sexual abuse against two young children in his care and distributing the resulting images and videos online. The crimes, described by federal prosecutors as torture, unfolded over multiple years and reached into a hidden digital network dedicated to the exploitation of infants and toddlers.
Walker began sexually abusing one victim when she was a toddler, subjecting her to ongoing, sadistic abuse for six years. He later abused a second child, age six, over a several-month period. Both victims were under Walker’s supervision at the time of the assaults. He documented the abuse in hundreds of images and videos, which he then shared through an online forum he created and moderated—one centered on the sadistic sexual exploitation of the youngest children, some not even one year old.
Within the online group, Walker wasn’t just a passive participant—he was its leader. He encouraged members to trade extreme abuse material, provided tutorials on how to conceal identities online, and instructed others in psychological, physical, and sexual methods to harm children. His role as moderator made him a central figure in a predatory ecosystem that spanned the digital underground.
“The vile conduct that Walker inflicted on his victims is reprehensible and will impact these children for the rest of their lives,” said U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Myers. “This sentence ensures that Trent Walker will never have another opportunity to victimize another child and hopefully bring some peace to his victims.” Federal authorities emphasized that the sentence reflects the severity and premeditated nature of Walker’s crimes.
FBI Indianapolis Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Middleton stated, “The defendant’s repeated sadistic abuse clearly demonstrates he cannot be allowed to be free in the community.” He praised the collaborative investigation between federal and state agencies, underscoring the FBI’s commitment to holding the most dangerous predators accountable. Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter and Spencer County Sheriff Kelli Reinke echoed that sentiment, calling the outcome a victory for child protection and a warning to others lurking in the shadows of the web.
Walker will serve consecutive federal sentences totaling 210 years and is ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to each victim. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tiffany J. Preston and stemmed from an investigation by the FBI, the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police. It was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative targeting online child exploitation. For more information, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
