PARMELEE, SD – Keena Two Eagle, 32, of Parmelee, South Dakota, is facing serious federal charges following an indictment handed down by a grand jury. The charges stem from a violent incident allegedly occurring on August 16, 2017, and involve both aggravated assault and disturbing allegations of child abuse. The Grimy Times has learned the case has been a priority for federal investigators.
United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler announced the indictment, detailing charges of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Child Abuse. According to the indictment, Two Eagle allegedly assaulted an individual with a knife, inflicting serious bodily harm. The charges don’t stop there; the indictment further claims Two Eagle abused, exposed, tortured, tormented, and cruelly punished multiple children on the same date. The details are sickening, and the Grimy Times will continue to follow this case.
Two Eagle appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on April 12, 2017, entering a plea of not guilty to the indictment. He is currently remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial. A trial date has not yet been scheduled, but the government is expected to move swiftly given the severity of the accusations. Sources close to the investigation indicate the victim(s) are receiving support and counseling.
If convicted on the assault charges, Two Eagle faces a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in custody and/or a $250,000 fine, followed by 3 years of supervised release. The child abuse charge carries an even steeper potential sentence: 15 years in custody and/or a $250,000 fine, also with 3 years supervised release. In addition to imprisonment and fines, both charges could result in a $100 payment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and an order for restitution to any victims.
The investigation was conducted by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, highlighting the collaboration between tribal and federal authorities in addressing violent crime. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson is prosecuting the case, and is expected to present a compelling case to the jury. The Grimy Times will be in the courtroom, reporting on every development.
It is crucial to remember that these are merely accusations, and Keena Two Eagle is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. However, the nature of these charges demands a thorough investigation and a swift pursuit of justice for any victims involved. The Grimy Times remains committed to providing comprehensive coverage of federal crime, holding perpetrators accountable, and giving voice to the voiceless.
