Utah Con Artist Sentenced for 7-Eleven Robbery Spree

Andrew Armani Deionte Rowe, 29, a Salt Lake City resident, has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for masterminding a string of 7-Eleven robberies across the Salt Lake Valley.

According to court documents, Rowe robbed multiple 7-Eleven stores between September 12 and September 27, 2023, using threats and intimidation to get his hands on cash from the registers. The robberies took place in Salt Lake City and Millcreek, Utah, with Rowe using identical tactics each time: handing a note to the clerk stating, ‘Do as I say, or you will lose your life.’

The first robbery occurred on September 12, 2023, at a 7-Eleven in Salt Lake City, where Rowe locked the doors and handed the clerk a note. The clerk complied, handing over the cash from the register. Later that day, Rowe committed a second robbery at a 7-Eleven in Millcreek, Utah, using a gun to demand all the cash in the register.

On September 14, 2023, Rowe struck again at a 7-Eleven in Salt Lake City, pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding all the cash from the register. The final robbery took place on September 27, 2023, at a 7-Eleven in Millcreek, where Rowe threatened the clerk and demanded money from the register.

Rowe was arrested on October 11, 2023, after law enforcement seized clothing matching that worn during the robberies and a black firearm designed to look like a Glock. The firearm was later determined to be a BB gun.

U.S. Attorney Felice John Viti for the District of Utah stated, ‘No individual should feel unsafe while at work.’ He added, ‘Community safety is a priority for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and our law enforcement partners.’ Special Agent in Charge Mehtab Syed with the Salt Lake City FBI said, ‘Opportunistic crimes don’t pay. The FBI and our partners are committed to keeping our communities safe from violent offenders.’

The case was investigated jointly by the Salt Lake City Police Department, Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake, and the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah prosecuted the case, which is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing gun violence and other violent crime in communities.
