SPRINGFIELD, MO – Ahmaad Jarvis, 39, of New York, is staring down a lifetime in federal prison after a jury slammed him with convictions on drug trafficking charges yesterday. The verdict follows a week-long trial in U.S. District Court, ending with the jury needing just 30 minutes to decide Jarvis’ fate.
DEA wiretaps back in October 2023 caught Jarvis plotting a cross-country run to Los Angeles to source narcotics, then bring the haul back to Springfield for distribution. Investigators tailed him, pulling him over on October 20th as he drove down from Kansas City. A search of his vehicle revealed a sickening load: nearly 10 pounds of methamphetamine and 400 grams of fentanyl – enough to kill thousands.
Jarvis was the last holdout in a larger network. Thirteen co-defendants already pleaded guilty, leaving him to face the music alone. Judge Roseann Ketchmark will hand down the sentence after a probation officer completes a pre-sentence investigation, but Jarvis is looking at a minimum of 10 years, and potentially life without parole.
