Mississippi Delta bust: 2 sheriffs, 12 police officers arrested, charged in drug trafficking bribery scheme
According to a recent press release, two sheriffs and 12 police officers have been arrested and charged in a drug trafficking bribery scheme in the Mississippi Delta region.
The defendants, who were not named in the press release, were charged with various crimes including conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The arrests were made on March 22, 2024 and the case is being investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
