Felon in Possession Sentence Handed Down in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – Raymond Barrett, a 40-year-old St. Louis man, has been sentenced to 57 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, Barrett was riding in a vehicle during a lawful traffic stop on February 21, 2019. When police approached, Barrett attempted to conceal a firearm in the passenger door pocket and provided officers with a false name.

After discovering the false name, Barrett admitted to his true identity and police subsequently discovered a parole warrant was out for his arrest. While exiting the vehicle, police seized the firearm Barrett had hidden.
