Eufaula Woman Pleads Guilty to Obstruction of Justice in Social Security Fraud

GRIMY TIMES

In a gritty turn of events, LINDA LUE ADAMS, also known as LINDA CORLEY and LINDA MARTIN, aged 68 from Eufaula, Oklahoma, has entered a guilty plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Adams stands accused of obstruction of justice, specifically violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 1512(c)(2).

The charges stem from an investigation spearheaded by the Social Security Administration’s Office of Inspector General. According to the Information filed against her, Adams is alleged to have corruptly attempted to obstruct, influence, and impede an official proceeding—a grand jury investigation into social security fraud.

It is claimed that on or around December 12th, Adams made materially false statements about the involvement of other individuals in the fraud scheme. The intent was clear: to shield these individuals from prosecution by preventing the case against them from advancing.

Judge Kimberly E. West, a Magistrate Judge in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Adams’ guilty plea and has ordered the completion of a presentence report before scheduling her sentencing. The potential punishment for obstruction of justice is severe, with Adams facing up to 20 years imprisonment and/or a fine of $250,000.

Representing the United States in this case was Assistant United States Attorney Rob Wallace.
