Thompson and Lagrone Sentenced for Texas Methamphetamine Ring

TYLER, Texas – Two ruthless drug kingpins from East Texas have been locked away for their role in a methamphetamine trafficking ring. Chadwick Marvin Thompson and Brandon Lee Lagrone faced the music today after being sentenced to federal prison by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

In a shocking plea deal, 36-year-old Thompson, hailing from McKinney, Texas, admitted to conspiracy to distribute at least 50 grams of meth. The man behind the syringe got 240 months behind bars for his greed and was stripped of $8,700 in cash, six firearms, and ammunition as part of his sentence.

36-year-old Lagrone of Carthage wasn’t far behind, using a communication facility to aid in the distribution of meth. His punishment? A 36-month federal prison term, a stark reminder that no one is above the law when it comes to drug trafficking.

The gritty tale began in 2012 and 2013, when Thompson was caught selling meth and firearms to cronies. Lagrone used his phone on July 20, 2013, to facilitate the distribution of the deadly drug. The duo, along with two others, were indicted by a federal grand jury on March 27, 2013.

This case was a joint effort by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby led the prosecution that resulted in Thompson’s and Lagrone’s convictions.

Today, justice has been served, and these two men will pay for their actions for years to come. The sentence handed down by Judge Davis is a stark warning to anyone thinking of getting involved in the dangerous world of drug trafficking.
