ELYRIA, OHIO – In a shocking turn of justice, 29-year-old Siarres R. Noble was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for his role in the distribution of deadly heroin and fentanyl that resulted in the tragic death of an Elyria resident last year.
The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach, FBI Special Agent in Charge Stephen D. Anthony, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, and Elyria Police Chief Duane Whitely.
Noble pleaded guilty earlier this year to four counts of distribution of fentanyl, two counts of distribution of heroin, and one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. He admitted selling the drugs in March and November 2013, including a batch sold on November 8, 2013, which caused the death of a local woman.
Dettelbach emphasized the severity of drug distribution, stating, ‘Heroin and fentanyl use leads to death, destroys lives, and damages families. This sentence sends a clear message to drug dealers that we will hold them accountable for their actions.’
Anthony added, ‘Siarres Noble did not just sell heroin – he sold poison, and today’s sentence demonstrates our commitment to working these cases with local partners.’ Attorney General DeWine echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the consequences for those who continue to feed addiction in Ohio.
Elyria Police Chief Whitely underscored the gravity of the drug problem in the country, commending all involved in the case for their swift and effective response. The investigation was conducted by the Elyria Police Department and the FBI, with prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorneys Robert F. Corts, Vasile C. Katsaros, and Special Assistant United States Attorney Margaret Tomaro.
