Ashland Bandit Dongarra Indicted for Bank Heist in North Olmsted

GRIMY NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Jordon Louis Dongarra, 33, of Ashland, Ohio, has been hit with a two-count indictment for bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a violent crime. According to Steven M. Dettelbach, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, a grand jury has deemed Dongarra’s actions worthy of serious charges.

The alleged incident took place at the Ohio Savings Bank located on 28880 Lorain Road in North Olmsted on December 30, 2014. The indictment asserts that Dongarra robbed the federally insured institution, leaving a trail of shock and fear among local residents.

In a statement, Dettelbach emphasized that if convicted, Dongarra’s sentence would be decided by the court based on various factors, including his criminal history, role in the offense, and the nature of the violation. He clarified that sentences are subject to statutory maximums but often result in less than the maximum penalty.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Seabury Gould is handling the prosecution, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and North Olmsted Police Department leading the investigation. This case underscores the commitment of federal law enforcement to cracking down on financial crimes within our communities.

As always, an indictment is merely a charge and not evidence of guilt. Dongarra is entitled to a fair trial where the government will bear the burden of proving his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
