PITTSBURGH – The grim reaper of Uniontown’s streets, Darrell Howard Foster, 35, has been meted out a severe sentence by federal judges. Foster is now staring down the barrel of a dozen and a half years in the slammer for his sinister dealings in crack cocaine.
The United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced that Foster received a stinging 150-month (12½-year) term behind bars, along with six years of supervised release, following his conviction on federal narcotics charges.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer was the grim inquisitor who imposed the sentence, noting Foster’s prior criminal history which included felony drug and aggravated assault convictions. This record made him a career offender, subject to an increased recommended sentencing range.
The date March 14, 2012, will forever be etched into the annals of Uniontown as the day Foster’s reign of terror took a dramatic downturn. On that fateful day, Foster was caught with intent to distribute the dangerous drug known as crack cocaine, a substance that has brought untold pain and suffering to countless families.
Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti prosecuted this case with unwavering determination on behalf of the government. The Drug Enforcement Administration, Pennsylvania State Police, and Uniontown Police Department were all commended by U.S. Attorney Hickton for their relentless pursuit of justice in bringing Foster to his knees.
This sentence serves as a stark reminder of the severe consequences facing those who engage in drug trafficking. Foster’s sentence sends a chilling message that the law will not tolerate such heinous activities, even in the darkest corners of our society.
