Bangor, PA – A chilling case has emerged as Matthew Simineri, 21, from Bangor, Pennsylvania, faces a litany of serious charges, including Enticement of a Minor to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct. According to United States Attorney Zane David Memeger, the allegations stem from Simineri’s online interactions with a 9-year-old autistic girl.
Simineri is accused of four counts of Manufacturing Child Pornography, four counts of Receipt of Child Pornography, and one count of Transfer of Obscene Material to a Minor. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a minimum of 15 years behind bars, alongside a $2 million fine.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the prosecution of Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella.
It is important to note that an Indictment, Information, or Criminal Complaint is merely an accusation. Until proven guilty in a court of law, Simineri is presumed innocent.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online predators and the necessity for continued vigilance and enforcement against such heinous acts.
