Gordon Daigle, a/k/a Gordon Hill, 38, of Epsom, is headed to federal prison for 21 months after admitting he stole another man’s identity to pass as someone else in New Hampshire. The sentence, handed down in Concord, marks the end of a years-long fugitive run built on forged documents and false names.
Court records show Daigle applied for a New Hampshire Non-Driver Identification Card on April 6, 2015, using a stolen Social Security number, birthdate, and full legal name. He backed the application with a counterfeit Social Security card and a fake birth certificate—documents good enough to fool DMV clerks and issue an official state ID bearing his photo but not his real name.
The fraud unraveled on May 23, 2016, when the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force caught up with Daigle on outstanding parole violation warrants from Wyoming and New Hampshire. When confronted, he handed over the fake ID and Social Security card in the victim’s name. Fingerprint analysis confirmed the man in custody was not who the ID claimed—he was Gordon Daigle.
Daigle pleaded guilty on October 24, 2016, to charges of misusing a Social Security number, a federal felony. He now faces 21 months behind bars followed by three years of supervised release, during which he’ll be monitored for any further financial deception or criminal activity.
The investigation was led by the Social Security Administration’s Office of the Inspector General and the U.S. Marshals Service, agencies that routinely track down fugitives using stolen identities to disappear across state lines. Prosecution was handled by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Burzycki, who emphasized the danger of identity theft in enabling broader criminal networks.
This case underscores how stolen personal data fuels fraud, parole evasion, and systemic abuse of public services. For victims of identity theft, the damage can last years. For Daigle, it’s 21 months of hard time—and a permanent federal record.
