Hammond, IN — A convicted child molester and self-proclaimed ‘virtuous pedosexual’ has been slammed with 15 years behind bars for trafficking grotesque, homegrown child pornography across state lines. Michael Christianson, 52, of LaPorte, Indiana, pleaded guilty to three counts of transporting obscene materials and was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Philip P. Simon.

Christianson, already a registered sex offender, authored and shipped three books packed with illegal imagery to a publisher in North Carolina between June 22 and July 2, 2019. Each book contained photos of children’s genitals and depictions of minors engaged in explicit sexual acts. Federal prosecutors say the material was not just illegal — it was engineered to normalize the sexual abuse of children.

The sentencing, announced by United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson, marks the latest chapter in a long trail of deviance. Christianson was first convicted in LaPorte County, Indiana, in 2003 for sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy. That prior conviction did not stop him from reoffending — this time using digital tools to distribute his criminal creations far beyond his backyard.

In disturbing court filings submitted pro se, Christianson referred to himself as a “virtuous pedosexual,” a term that shocked even seasoned prosecutors. His writings were not mere fantasies; they were deliberate, authored productions designed to infiltrate legitimate publishing channels and sanitize his predatory ideology.

The FBI led the investigation after the North Carolina publisher flagged the books as suspicious. Agents traced the submissions back to Christianson’s home in LaPorte, where digital evidence confirmed his authorship and intent. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Kelley and former Northern District of Indiana prosecutor Jill Koster.

Christianson will serve 15 years in federal prison followed by 2 years of supervised release. Authorities warn that cases like this expose how registered sex offenders exploit technology to reoffend.
