On June 28, 2017, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that federal authorities had filed charges against Braxton Braxton, a Maryland resident, in connection with a violent crime.

According to court documents, Braxton Braxton was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, carrying a pistol without a license, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The U.S. Marshals Service had arrested Braxton Braxton in Baltimore, Maryland, after a joint investigation by the Baltimore Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) had uncovered evidence linking him to a string of violent crimes in the area.

Following a lengthy trial at the MDD Federal District Court in Maryland, the jury delivered a guilty verdict against Braxton Braxton on all counts. The trial lasted for over three months, with both sides presenting extensive evidence and testimony.

As a result of the guilty verdict, Braxton Braxton faced a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. He was subsequently sentenced to 15 years in prison, with 5 years of supervised release.
