68-Year-Old NJ Man Sentenced for Facebook Child Pornography Scheme

Trenton, N.J. – Herman Christopher Jensen, a 68-year-old from Union Beach, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for his despicable use of Facebook to entice and coerce a minor into sending sexually explicit pictures and videos.

Jensen pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan to charges of knowingly receiving child pornography. The sentence was handed down today in Trenton federal court.

According to the documents filed in this case, Jensen used a fake Facebook account, posing as a 17-year-old boy named ‘Kevin Bennett,’ to frequently communicate with an underage girl over the internet. He convinced her he was her romantic interest and requested nude and explicit images from her via Facebook messenger.

As time went on, the videos grew more graphic, eventually revealing that Jensen was not the 17-year-old boy he claimed to be. Despite this revelation, the minor continued communicating with him under his new name, ‘Chris Jensen.’ By December 2018, she traveled to New Jersey to live with Jensen.

However, local authorities were alerted and the girl was removed from Jensen’s residence on December 19, 2018. In addition to the prison term, Judge Sheridan sentenced Jensen to lifetime supervised release.

Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig commended special agents of the FBI and the Union Beach Police Department for their roles in this investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Perry Farhat represented the government in this case.
