Miami Man Convicted of Using Fake ID to Access Luxury Condo

A 50-year-old Miami resident, Alfred Lenoris Davis, has been convicted of using a fraudulent driver’s license as proof of identity to become an occupant of a luxury condominium in Sunny Isles, Florida.

The luxury condominium, located in South Florida, allowed Davis full access to amenities and services afforded to residents, all while concealing his true identity and past as a previously convicted felon.

This brazen identity concealment scheme was uncovered by the FBI, who investigated the case and discovered that Davis had created and used a counterfeit access device to gain access to the luxury condo.

A federal jury convicted Davis of use of a counterfeit access device to facilitate the identity concealment scheme, a serious crime that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Davis faces a sentencing hearing on July 11 before U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez, who will determine the defendant’s sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida and the FBI worked tirelessly to bring Davis to justice, with U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe and Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey B. Veltri leading the effort.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan Bailyn and Katie L. Sadlo prosecuted the case, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Mitchell Hyman handled asset forfeiture.

Residents of the luxury condominium may have unknowingly been placed at risk by Davis’s actions, highlighting the need for increased security measures to prevent similar crimes in the future.

The case number for this incident is 22-cr-20051, and related court documents can be found on the website of the District Court for the Southern District of Florida at www.flsd.uscourts.gov or at http://pacer.flsd.uscourts.gov.
