Bradley Eagle-Tate Sentenced for Indian Country Manslaughter

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a grim turn of events, 31-year-old Bradley Jordan Eagle-Tate from Stilwell, Oklahoma, faced the music as he was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment for involuntary manslaughter within the borders of Indian Country. The sentence came after a harrowing event on Oklahoma Highway 100, where Eagle-Tate’s reckless behavior and drug-induced impairment led to a fatal crash.

Eagle-Tate’s crime spree began on June 27, 2022, when he careened into the path of an unsuspecting vehicle in a no-passing zone. His first contact was with a vehicle that was clipped, followed by a head-on collision with a second car, resulting in the death of one driver and serious injuries to a passenger. During his plea hearing, Eagle-Tate confessed to being under the influence of multiple drugs at the time of the incident, acknowledging his failure to maintain full attention while driving.

The investigation was a joint effort by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which led to the present-day conviction and sentence. The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the hearing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, ensuring that justice was served in this Native American Country jurisdiction.

Eagle-Tate will remain under the custody of the U.S. Marshal until being transported to a Bureau of Prisons facility where he will serve his non-paroleable sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Gross represented the prosecution with unwavering dedication to see justice carried out.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by impaired driving, especially within Native American communities. It also highlights the tireless efforts of federal agencies in ensuring that justice is served across all jurisdictions, including Indian Country.
