A brazen gang of Paterson, New Jersey, men has been charged with running a notorious street gang that distributed massive quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced the charges against four Passaic County men, Jazmeir Reyes, Kyzeik Robinson, Michael Davis, and Jacim Pitts, in connection with their roles in the Paterson neighborhood street gang known as ‘100k’ that operated primarily in the area of North Main and Jefferson streets in the First Ward of Paterson.
Reyes, 19, also known as ‘Baby Joe,’ ‘Joe,’ is charged with attempting to rob a postal employee at gunpoint on July 28, 2023, in Paterson. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine, or twice the gain or loss from the offense, whichever is greatest. Reyes also faces a mandatory minimum term of seven years and a maximum term of life imprisonment for brandishing a firearm in connection with a crime of violence, which must run consecutively to any other prison sentence imposed.
The four defendants are charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, which carries a mandatory minimum term of five years, a maximum of 40 years in prison, and a fine of at least $5 million. Davis and Pitts, both of Paterson, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge James B. Clark III in Newark federal court and were detained.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court, law enforcement has been investigating the members and associates of the ‘100k’ gang since January 2022. From August 2023 to April 2024, law enforcement used undercover officers to conduct controlled purchases of narcotics from Reyes and the other members and associates of ‘100k,’ seizing over 100 grams of fentanyl as well as quantities of heroin and cocaine.
The investigation, part of the Paterson Violent Crime Initiative (VCI), was led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the City of Paterson’s Department of Public Safety. The VCI is a collaborative effort between federal, state, county, and city agencies to prosecute violent offenders who endanger the safety of the community.
