PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Tariq Dazour Walker, 27, of Pensacola, was handed a 120-month prison term after his guilty plea to possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. The sentence was imposed by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Records show that on December 4, 2024, Walker stood accused of firing shots at the Pensacola Village apartment complex. Law enforcement identified him as the shooter based on multiple witness accounts. The defendant’s criminal history included convictions for robbery, grand theft auto, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and prior gun possession.
U.S. Attorney Heekin emphasized the commitment to removing violent offenders from communities, hailing state and federal law enforcement efforts in maintaining safety. Chief Eric Randall of the Pensacola Police Department echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the department’s unwavering dedication to public safety.
The sentence was a result of a collaborative investigation between the Escambia County Sherriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Pensacola Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jeffrey M. Tharp prosecuted the case.
