Indiana Narc: Solomon Newcomb Gets 146 Months for Meth

SOUTH BEND – A grim reminder of the war on drugs came as Solomon Newcomb, 30 years old, from Rochester, Indiana, was sentenced to 146 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor.

Newcomb’s sentence includes four years of supervised release following his imprisonment. The court documents detail a September 22, 2024 incident where Newcomb was pulled over as a passenger, fled but was caught, and arrested. His backpack contained around 150 grams of meth, an AR-style rifle, and over 300 rounds of ammunition.

“Newcomb’s possession and intention to distribute this drug while armed represents a dangerous threat,” Proctor commented. “The relentless efforts of Fulton County officers and our investigative team have ensured Newcomb faces the consequences for his actions.”

The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with support from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph P. Falvey prosecuted the case.

This sentencing is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a comprehensive initiative to reduce violent crime and gun violence, enhancing community safety.

The Department launched this strategy in 2021 with a focus on fostering trust in communities, supporting prevention efforts, strategic enforcement, and measuring outcomes.
