Two-Time U.S. Open Snowboarder Rahm Klampert Charged with Drug Trafficking

HARTFORD, VT – Rahm Klampert, the two-time U.S. Open snowboarding champion and a 45-year-old resident of Hartford, Vermont, has been slapped with federal drug trafficking charges, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.

During an arraignment on July 31, 2025, Klampert pleaded not guilty before United States Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle, who ordered his detention pending further proceedings.

On June 20, 2025, a federal grand jury indicted Klampert following a search warrant executed at his residence and personal training studio, Rahm’s Results. Authorities uncovered approximately 1.1 kilograms of meth, 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 75 grams of fentanyl, and 12 firearms, including stolen weapons.

Local sources have reported Klampert was trafficking drugs in the Hartford area. The United States Attorney’s Office stressed that an indictment is merely an allegation, and Klampert is presumed innocent until proven guilty. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a possible lifetime sentence.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael P. Drescher praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, including the Hartford Police Department, Vermont State Police, Vermont Drug Task Force, Brattleboro Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.

The prosecution team is led by Assistant United States Attorneys Corinne Smith and Charles W. Kirkham, with Klampert represented by Assistant Federal Public Defender Charles Curlett.
