SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – In a chilling turn of events, Jerry Gordon, 56, from Colorado, has pled guilty to transmitting a threatening message across state lines, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York. The defendant faces severe consequences after acknowledging that he sent four ominous text messages between April 22 and April 25, 2025, to a man in Aurora, New York.
In his admission, Gordon informed the victim to settle his affairs as he intended to “drink your blood from the chalice that I will make out of your heart” before Friday, April 25. The FBI’s swift action led to Gordon’s arrest upon his arrival in Syracuse, where law enforcement personnel were awaiting him.
“Vile threats to kill the citizens of our district will not be tolerated,” said Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III. “Local, state, and federal agents worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community.”
FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli echoed Sarcone’s sentiments, emphasizing the FBI’s dedication to protecting citizens from violent threats. “This case is a testament to our commitment to swiftly investigate and apprehend those who would disturb the peace with acts of violence,” said Tremaroli.
On November 24, 2025, Gordon will face sentencing before United States District Judge Elizabeth C. Coombe, where he may receive up to five years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release.
The investigation into this case was a collaborative effort, involving the New York State Police, Syracuse Regional Airport Authority Police Department, Syracuse Police Department, Cornell Police Department, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, Federal Air Marshal Service, and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey J. L. Brown is handling the prosecution.
