Massachusetts Man Gets Over 5 Years for Gun Smuggling in NH

CONCORD, NH – In a hard-hitting blow against gun trafficking, Gicliff Rodriguez, 24, of Massachusetts, was sentenced today to over five years in federal prison for firearms trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.

Rodriguez was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Steven J. McAuliffe to 63 months behind bars and an additional 3 years of supervised release. Rodriguez entered his guilty plea to the charges back in May 2025, when he also admitted to possessing firearms by a prohibited person.

“Federal law is clear: those who are banned from firearm possession cannot circumvent this restriction,” U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan stated. “Rodriguez’s actions endangered the public, and we will continue to pursue justice against anyone who endangers our communities with illegal gun trafficking.”

Rachael Cummings, Rodriguez’s co-defendant, was sentenced to 12 months of probation following her conviction on June 30, 2025.

The investigation into Rodriguez’s activities began in February 2024 when he and Cummings traveled from Massachusetts to a New Hampshire firearms store. Rodriguez directed Cummings to purchase three semiautomatic weapons for him, despite being a convicted felon. Two of the guns were later recovered after they were used in violent crimes in Massachusetts.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), with Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Hunter handling the prosecution. The sentence handed down today serves as a stark reminder that the unlawful trafficking of firearms will not be tolerated in New Hampshire.”
