United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe dropped a重磅打击 on Orlando’s underworld, announcing the return of an indictment charging five individuals with drug trafficking and firearms offenses tied to Smoke Break Productions, a notorious Orlando smoke shop.
The operation, according to the feds, was more than just a retail establishment—it served as a clandestine marketplace for drugs and guns. The indictment names Angel Luis Carrasquillo, 42, of Orlando, as the mastermind behind this criminal enterprise.
Carrasquillo and his alleged cronies—Rogelio Vidal, Jr., 30; Andrew Abbott, 35; Jahmil Lally, 29; and Christopher Alonnzo, 23—are facing a bevy of charges. The most severe of these include drug trafficking conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and using or carrying a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.
The defendants face a mountain of penalties if found guilty. Carrasquillo and Abbott could spend up to 20 years behind bars for their roles in the drug trafficking conspiracy. Vidal Jr., Lally, and Alonnzo each stand to serve 15 years for their respective firearms-related charges.
Court documents reveal that Smoke Break Productions was a front for a much darker reality. Carrasquillo is accused of distributing narcotics and firearms from his smoke shop to various individuals in the community.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at dismantling cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and violent crime. Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman will lead the prosecution against the defendants.
