BOSTON – Cesar Pena Pimental, a 29-year-old Dominican national, is staring down up to eight years in federal prison after being indicted for violently resisting FBI agents during an immigration raid. The grim charges come as the Department of Justice (DOJ) slams shut another chapter in the ongoing battle against illegal immigration.
Pena Pimental, 29, was formally charged with forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with federal officers while they were engaged in the performance of their official duties. The incident unfolded on June 6, 2025, when agents attempted to take Pena Pimental into custody.
According to the DOJ’s USAO, Pena Pimental did not take kindly to the law enforcement intervention and reportedly engaged in a fierce physical struggle with the officers. His actions have landed him in hot water, as he now faces a sentence of up to eight years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England, have issued a stern warning that such actions will not be tolerated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra W. Amrhein of the Major Crimes Unit is handling the prosecution of the case.
The details contained in the charging documents are allegations, and Pena Pimental is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant will also be subject to deportation upon completion of any sentence imposed by the federal district court judge.
This latest incident underscores the gravity of the ongoing immigration crisis and the importance of maintaining order during these operations. The grimy details of this case are a stark reminder that resistance to federal agents, regardless of the circumstances, will not be taken lightly.
