Stanislaus Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: A jury in California has delivered a resounding conviction against 46-year-old Edward Cragg, a Turlock resident, for his depraved possession of over 130 videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children. Cragg was caught using a file-sharing program to download the vile content between 2015 and 2016.

The Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, led by Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti, has been relentless in its pursuit of those who prey on our nation’s most vulnerable. “Today’s conviction sends a clear message: The U.S. will not tolerate the gross abuse of our children,” said U.S. Attorney Eric Grant for the Eastern District of California.

Acting Assistant Attorney General Galeotti emphasized the gravity of the crime, “The content is vile and illegal, and we will aggressively prosecute those who engage with it.” The investigation was a collaborative effort between the FBI’s Sacramento Field Office and the Turlock Police Department, with significant support from the Justice Department’s High Technology Investigative Unit.

Cragg now faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, with a possible sentence topping out at 20 years. His sentencing date is set for December 8, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston.
