Colbert Man Pleads Guilty to Gun Charge

COLBERT, OK – A grim tale of firearms and domestic violence emerges from Bryan County as Justin Eagle Chambers, 39, from Colbert, enters a guilty plea for Possession of Firearm & Ammunition by Prohibited Person. The charge stems from a harrowing incident on March 26, 2025, where Chambers was accused of illegally possessing a pistol and ammunition in direct violation of a court order.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma revealed that Chambers received actual notice of the restraining order before the offense. The court order explicitly prohibited him from harassment, stalking, or threats against an intimate partner, yet he reportedly went ahead with the illegal weaponry.

This sordid chapter was unearthed by a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Achille Police Department. The ATF, known for its relentless pursuit of firearms-related crimes, is once again underlining the severity of gun violations in Oklahoma.

Judge Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, has accepted Chambers’ guilty plea and ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed. The ultimate sentence will be dictated by the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors, leaving Chambers’ fate in the hands of the court.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lewis M. Reagan led the prosecution for the United States, ensuring that justice would be served for the violation of a restraining order and the unlawful possession of firearms. Chambers will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service until his sentencing is determined.

The grim reaper of Oklahoma’s criminal justice system has once again claimed its prey, with Justin Eagle Chambers facing a potential 15 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine for his brazen violation of federal firearm laws.
