Montgomery’s Jones and Lambert Convicted in Sex Trafficking Scandal

Kimani Jones, a.k.a. ‘Statik,’ and Tremayne Lambert, a.k.a. ‘Bayrock,’ have been convicted in federal court after a grueling four-day trial for their roles in a sex trafficking operation that exploited women and girls. The men, both of Montgomery, Alabama, were found guilty by a jury in the Middle District of Alabama.

Jones, 32, was accused of compelling seven victims to engage in commercial sex acts between August 2016 and November 2020, including two minors. He also transported and caused the transportation of at least one minor across state lines for prostitution purposes. Lambert, 50, faced charges for sex trafficking three victims over various time frames.

The victims were targeted and coerced through a combination of physical violence, sexual abuse, addictive drugs, and threats against their children. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon highlighted the Justice Department’s commitment to defending human rights and enforcing federal laws against human trafficking.

According to evidence presented during the trial, Jones ran an extensive sex operation, renting hotel rooms for sex acts, providing victims with necessities and drugs, and setting rules for them. He used violence, including sexual assault and intimidation with firearms, to maintain control over his victims. Lambert, the father of Jones, also played a significant role in the trafficking scheme.

Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson emphasized that justice is served for every victim, and efforts will continue to hold predators accountable. The convictions are a victory for the survivors who courageously spoke out against their traffickers.
