Lynwood Resident Faces Life Behind Bars for $22 Million Health Insurance Scam
In a shocking case of healthcare corruption, federal prosecutors have charged Amy D. Siniscarco with conspiracy and healthcare fraud in a $22 million scheme that netted millions in kickbacks and bribes.
According to court documents, Siniscarco, a 57-year-old Lynwood resident, used her position as a healthcare administrator to orchestrate a massive scam, siphoning off millions from Medicare and private insurance companies. The scheme allegedly involved paying kickbacks and bribes to medical professionals and therapists to prescribe unnecessary treatments and services to unsuspecting patients.
The case, United States v. Siniscarco, is being heard in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, docket number 2:25-cr-00052. The indictment alleges that Siniscarco and her co-conspirators raked in over $22 million in ill-gotten gains, with millions more still unaccounted for.
The investigation, led by the FBI and the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, uncovered a complex web of deceit and corruption that spanned years and multiple states. Siniscarco’s arrest marks a significant blow to the healthcare industry, which has long struggled with the scourge of fraud and abuse.
Siniscarco’s attorneys, Jehiel Isaac Baer and Nancy Tenney, have yet to comment on the charges. If convicted, Siniscarco faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. The case is set to go to trial later this year.
The case highlights the need for greater oversight and accountability in the healthcare industry, where corruption and abuse can have devastating consequences for patients and taxpayers alike. As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: the healthcare industry will not tolerate those who exploit the system for personal gain.
