Abigail Margarete Knight Sentenced to 600 Months for Child Pornography

A Riverside woman has been sentenced to 600 months in federal prison for producing child pornography, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

Abigail Margarete Knight, 36, was found guilty of two counts of Production of Child Pornography after a guilty plea in an earlier hearing. The charges stem from her production of child sexual assault material involving two minor victims between July 2020 and May 2023.

Knight allegedly used photos and videos of minors and sent the child sexual assault material to two men, one in Texas and the other in Missouri, through the use of cellular phones and internet chats. The case was investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, and the ICAC Task Force.

Following her prison sentence, Knight will be required to serve five years of supervised release. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal announced the sentencing. “This case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of child sexual exploitation,” Westphal said in a statement. “We will continue to work tirelessly to protect our children from predators like Abigail Knight.”

The case serves as a warning to those who would exploit children online. As part of the sentencing, the court ordered Knight to pay a fine and forfeit her cellular phones and other electronic devices used in the commission of the crime.
