A 38-year-old Ada resident has been sentenced to seven years in the slammer for obstruction of justice.
David Henry Vick Jr., 38, of Ada, Oklahoma, was handed down a 92-month sentence by the Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The charge of obstruction of justice stems from a joint investigation by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Ada Police Department.
Vick pleaded guilty on February 6, 2024, to attempting to intimidate and threaten a witness in an effort to influence, delay, or prevent testimony before a convening federal grand jury.
Assistant United States Attorney T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in the case.
Vick will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
The harsh sentence sends a clear message to those who think they can intimidate witnesses and undermine the justice system: you will be caught and you will face the music.
